  1. Hi,

I have a long recorded .AVI file of TV show episodes I recorded from my VCR to my computer using my Canopus ADVC-100. Is there anyway I can Encode the file to .MPG with TMPEG first and then split up the .MPG episode by episode eliminating the commercials? Or do I have to eliminate the commercials first with a .AVI editor and then save the individually (episode by episode) and then just batch encode with TMPEG?

Can anybody suggest any programs to edit out commercials from .AVI files and then highliting specific episodes and then saving them on your hard drive as individual episodes?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Thanks!!!!

  2. Either way - avi or mpeg
Edit out commecials in VirtualDub or Nandub for avi and use TMGEnc to edit out the commercials for mpeg (File>MPEG Tools>Merge&Cut)

There are a bunch of other programs that you can use also (see the extensive tool section on editing), but Nandub and TMPEnc are pretty simple to use.

  3. Can you write a DVD with just one .MPG file and having a program cut it into chapters? Or do I have to manually cut each episode from the main .MPG (or .AVI) file and do them seperately?

    Thanks!
