I have only a few questions:
1. How do you find out if an avi file is DiVX on Windows 2000? I know that you can right-click and check "Properties" for the file in Windows 98...but how do you find out for 2000?
2. How do you encode something to DivX? The information I have tried to gather is very confusing.
Thanks a bunch.

1. Try right clicking in win2k .. lol
Load in VirtualDub and look at properties
Load in GSpot and read video source
2. Try reading the EXCELLENT tutorials available in the newbie section -
Install " Gspot "...... perfect way to check what codec is used; and frame-rate. Check the Tools section on this site.
