  1. The format is Divx Mpeg 3. I'm using Virtual Dub 1.47 and I cut on a keyframe but the second half of the movie gets all distorted while the first half is fine.

I start the prog and leave most of the settings as it is.
I make sure video and audio is direct stream copy.
I go to the middle and find a keyframe and select it as my area to cut to the end.
    I save as avi.

What else am I missing? What other programs do ppl recommend?

  2. Suggest (if you haven't already):

    -Check for bad frames.
-Try a different key frame as the cutting point.

  4. 44.1kHz stereo. Sorry I forgot to mention the distortion in the 'cut-off' movie more specifically. It's mostly just video distortion. Upon start up of the movie, I'll hear the audio but the video is all green. Then after a few seconds, the picture gradually comes in. The rest of the movie's video is noticeably distorted compared to the original. On some tries the audio would be out of sync but it seemed right most of the time.

The original does have a few bad frames so I could've just been cutting at the bad ones. I'll try it at cleaner keyframes and hope for the best.
