    Ok heres the thing: I downloaded an avi file. Then i tried playing them on my players i have, and others i downloaded (winmedia, quicktime, realplayer, videolan, windvd, powerdvd) and i only get the audio on all of them EXCEPT Video Lan which works fine, the others have a scrambled picture. I downloaded the NIMO codec pack, nothin fixed. downloaded divx, nothin fixed. Anyone have a solution?

    Use Gspot from the tools section. It will tell you what codecs are required for that file and if they are installed.
