I want to use CCE SP to convert a Divx file to a Mpeg-2 DVD compliant format. So far everytime I try to convert the avi, I get some error saying div3 is not found. Is there a guide out there that outlines how to prepare and encode a divx avi to DVD using Cinema Craft Encoder? TIA!

I'm looking for the same thing. If you find a guide that is helpful, please post to let me know.

Also, what program do you use to check the frame rate of a divx file? So when I encode, I'm encoding at the correct fps.
I found Kingjohns guide to using to CCE, but I'm confused as what I do if I don't want to resize the file. In addition, if I try to frame serve with VDub, CCE just locks up at 0%.
One more thing, King John's guide doesn't outline what to do with the sound. Should I just rip a .wav with VDUB then encode the video only with CCE, the use some authoring program to multiplex the sound and video together? Eh... some day I'll get this right, I have a nice collection of DVD coasters though...

Assuming you have all the codecs required, you should be able to load an AVI directly into CCE and encode from there.
As far as the sound goes, do it separately using BeSweet or HeadAC3he. As a rule of thumb, you should process your audio and video separately. -
Well I have divx 3.x through 5.x (the latest version I can find) installed on my computer, as well as a codec bundle I think I found off of this site (or it could of been another vcd/divx site, I can't remember). However, I still get the error "div3 not found" when I try to encode the AVIs directly in CCE... Is there somewhere in CCE where you point it to the codecs? I don't think it's recognizing what I have. I know I have them installed or I wouldn't be able to play them right?

Open your file using GSpot and have a look at the audio and video codecs that it uses. Sometimes one codec has multiple applications.. maybe the version you are using is not compatible with CCE.

Thanks Pratticus! I never even noticed that GSpot application, that's nice. It takes care of alot of the encoding issues I've had in the past just by knowing exactly what the FPS and the codec my files are using. I think I've finally figured out the problem with CCE is also. I downloaded Nimo's codec pack last night and installed it. When it came to the quesion "Do you want to use DivX 5.x to play 3.x files?" I said no and told it to use Divx 3.x. Now when I drop my DivX 3.x file in CCE it enodes with absolutely no problem at all
! Of course now my Windows Media player crashes when I try to play a file, but oh well, at least I'm making some headway.
I have to admit, CCE encodes alot faster. I have it set to 2-pass (which I guess would actually be 3 passes right?) VBR on a 40 minute test Divx file, and it took an hour to do it, opposed to 3 hours with TMPG at 2-pass VBR. Now all I have to do is figure out IfoEdit and burn it to a DVD. Anyone got any recomendations for creating a BIN/CUE file so I can burn the file in Prassi?
