Guess you haven't been following the news lately

I'm sure this is just related to the SQL worm that is taking over the internet. In short, it invades microsoft servers and uses them to send packets to any other servers on the network. Sites all across the internet are being packeted to death, ATM's aren't working, etc...

  3. Is this what they were suffering? Everyplace I know of is reporting this as under control? Plus, the site seems to work fine except for the download and e-mail buttons. Plus, I didn't have any trouble paying for it. I just can't get what I paid for.

Like I said in another thread, the author (I forget his name at the moment) should've set up an alternate buy/download site the moment he got wind of the trouble. He's apparently a fantastic programmer, but IMHO he has a few things to learn about being a good merchant.

  6. I wouldn't go so far as to call him a moron. I ran a website through the hight of the the Klez attacks. It's no fun. I know he must be putting out fires everwhere. But a quick status note at his site would go a long way towards helping folks understand.

A few days won't kill ya. There are a number of sites still down from the problem. I suspect some ISP's got over zealous with blocking ports and haven't backed down yet(I can ping but not on the SQL port a number of SQL servers I know from prior work)

  8. That makes more sense Gazogan that his host has blocked a lot of ports. I couldn't think why he'd be having problems once the overall DoS attacks subsided, but if the host closed off some, possibly everything except 80..... I had done some checks last night and could see he was still having problems, but I didn't check individual ports, and today seemed fine. Again, I don't think he's a moron, it's tough to run a site, but when you are taking money you do owe folks explainations and he's dropped the ball there.

If it were complaining just for the sake of complaining, that'd be one thing. It's the fact that he has my $45 but I don't have (and can't get) what I paid for that's the issue. Make no mistake, I'm more than willing to wait out the problems -- DoS attacks certainly aren't his fault -- but as was said earlier, he's dropped the ball on the support side of things. (For example, why do we have to click on a "news" link to find out about this DoS attack? Something this severe should've been on the main page, posted in great big flashing red 200-point letters. )

    i fully agree i wasn't insinuating otherwise.

it is also dumb that the "trial" version can't be made full with your reg #, both versions are only 90kb, why should one have to d/l the "full" version after paying?

S'okay. No offense taken, rest assured. Just wanted to make sure we were all on the same page.

Yeah, that one has me a little baffled, too. It would certainly have made things easier all around, I should think.
