  1. Ive searched and read up heaps.....downloaded nearly all of the tools, and I still cant find anything to help me cut 30mb out of the middle of my mpeg. I dont mind cutting these bits out coz theyre shitty anyway, and Im only 30mb over the cd limit! Also, what are you guys using to split the file in two?? All I can find is TRIAL version apps, and they only cut 7 second clips.....useless for me! Can anyone help?

Lastly, I dont know if anyone can tell me where I can find some good download sites for divx movies??? All I can find is scams (if Im not allowed to ask this, one of the mods can delete this part

  2. what you need is 'good old' TMPGEnc.

    1) Using the Cut/Join Mpeg tools section from the file menu, first add your mpeg file (selecting mpeg type) and set start and end point for the first part of the film you want.

    2) Add the film again and this time set the start & end points after the section you want to remove.

    3) Add file name to create and click on Run. Wait a little while and your file will be created.

NB> Make sure you select the right mpeg type or the file will come out as un-readable.

I am presently trying to use TMPGEnc to cut around 30MB out of the middle of my mpeg2 file, but it is not working well. What happens is that the video is not cutting at the point I tell it to, but the audio does. The video seems to cut about 1-2 seconds after I tell it to, so after the cut, the audio is happening about 1-2seconds before the video. I assume this is because it is not cutting on the I frame.
I am selecting MPEG2 in file type and following the procedure Ricardo posted.
