  1. Ok I'm trying to convert an xvid with Ac3 sound to dvd and change the framerate from 23.976 to 25 I have done the movie no problem and run the ac3 file through ac3 machine but now the audio is like 8 minutes shorter than the video... I read in a guide for a vcd I think that I know have to stretch the audio is this correct and if it is what prog should I use and how should I go about it. If it is no the correct thing to do can anyone tell me how to get the audio the same length as the video please

  2. If any program can stretch AC3, then it's probably Sonic Foundry Soft Encode. Another way would be to convert it to WAV, stretch it and re-encode it to AC3.

Something wrong here, surely? When you alter the framerate of the avi from 23.976 fps to 25 fps it will shorten the playtime. Your audio should be shortened accordingly to 95.9% of its original length.

I came, I saw and I concurred with the others that the way to do this is by first converting to .wav. 8)

found an excellent tool for compressing wave sound from 23.976fps to 25fps. 6minutes to compress 1hr30min wave file. Much faster than cooledit etc. See topic:
