help with AVI file... can't extract audio

i can load this particular avi file into Vdub. when i try to extract the audio (wav), it starts but at the middle, a window popups and Vdub says error in audio compression. thus, all i produce is an incomplete wav file.

also, i can't seem to open this movie in WMP. i can only play it using DivX The Player 2.0. if i try to drag the slider from the start of the movie to any part (for example, in the middle), the audio will play back from the start. audio is way out of sync!

is there a way to re-encode this avi to be able fix the audio codec problem? or is there a tool that can fix such problem? if so, what tool should i use? basically, im trying to convert the said file to mpg1. thanks.

have you checked the file for bad frames?
