Hi, could n e body please explain to me how i can get a 2hr 40 min svcd to fit on a dvd-r, have taken into tmpgenc and converted so that i can join files, which is on 3 discs, after i have joined files, bitrate set at 2350, the quality of the pic is poor, if i use a higher setting for the bitrate when i try to take it inot sonic mydvd, it tells me the file is too big, used best quality setting in tmpgenc but looks very blocky, is there a way i can reduce the size of the file after i have done all the conversion without losing n e of the quality ??

    Many Thanx

assuming these were originally encoded to svcd specs (in or around 2500kbps) then bumping the bitrate up will do nothing in picking
up quality... once it's lost it's lost.

Sorry, the svcd i have is dvd quality, but i need to convert it to dvd, have taken it into dvd2avi, to seperate vid and audio, then take it back into tmpgenc , to enable me to join files without audio going out of synch, set bitrate to 2500, joined 3 files perfectly after conversions, then when i try to take it into mydvd to convert to dvd, it tells me the filesize is too big.

Sonic MyDvd is your problem here. It automatically converts the audio to uncompressed PCM, increasing the size massivley. Try another authoring tool that supports mp2 audio, there are plenty to choose from these days.
