I just (finally) got a DVD burner today (Sony DRU-500A) and I come to find that it seems the only way I can use the 20+gb of self capped VCD cartoon files I have on DVD is to reencode the audio to 48khz - Is there any other method of doing this? They are tons of 10 minutes episodes, and on a P3-866 this will take an eternity =P

    Thanks

  2. No, DVD audio must be at 48khz. You need to use VCDGear (or other program) to generate MPG from your VCD dat files, de-mux the mpg, re-encode the audio, re-mux with new audio, then author DVD.

Ifoedit 0.95 will atuthor an SVCD with 44100 audio and without the need to patch the headers. It works,I've done it. The only limitation is that you can only have one "movie",but you could join your SVCD's before demuxing.
I've tried it on three different DVD player and all handled the aspect ratio and 44100 audio correctly.
