  1. I've got winxp OS. Is there any reason why this would inhibit my DVD authoring?
    thanks

  2. Not at all, I use WinXP Pro for dvd authoring and I'm quite sure many other folks here have the same type of setup. Have fun :P

  3. WinXP is great for all video work - nothing inhibits video editing or burning and you have no 2GB/4GB barrier on your hard drives if formatted to NTFS.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

Please update your ASPI layer for WIN XP as windows has removed it.

    http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.html?sess=no&language=English+US...aspi_471a2.exe

ASPI stands for Advanced SCSI Programming Interface. Originally developed by Adaptec. It is a software layer that enables programs to communicate with SCSI (and ATAPI) devices.

Also SP1 is recommended by SONY for the 500A environment for burning to be patched properly

if you don't have an ASPI layer, I'm told, the ripper has to use a more-error prone metod -some kind of method of RIPPING called WIN/i/o-
    supposedly less good

  8. hehehe I found out after formatting and installing XP Pro, that I could've converted to NTFS without having to go through a complete reinstall. This was back in December before I got my Pioneer A05. Silly me, I learn something new everyday though
