Hi all,
As you can tell this is my first post and i have struggled with this for 10 days now so i am not just using this forum as a easy way out. I have downloaded AVIs and am tring to convert them to DVD format MPEG 2.
The problem i am having is that the movies will be very jerky (only in parts) and sometimes stop all together.
I have used VDUB 1.4 to test for bad frames - "all frames seem good" comes the reply. I then use TMPGEnc 2.56 to convert - I use the wizard and the NTSC template (as the AVI is 23.976 FPS) with setting the - keep aspect resoluation - is turned on.
The results look great but in parts the film becomes very jerky however the sound will continue to play and the video will sometimes stop.
I have tried useing TMPGEnc 2.59 and multiplexing the m2v + wav in IfoEdit but still no good. I have yet to complete a DVD and it has got me puzzled and frustrated!!!
I am using XP with a XP2000 processor, my HDD are in RAID 0 so speed is not an issue, please please please can somebody help me with this...
Thanking you in advance
Dan
P.S. I have the latest NIMO codec pack installed - would this make a difference?

Hi,
I have the same issue on my PC.
Same problem after formatting (and installing only few codecs)
I've solved it with this combination:
Conversion AVI > Mpeg2? Use Canopus Pro Coder
Authoring? Spruce UP (older but gorgeous)
Burner? Prassi primo DVD
Finally Works.....
Let me know......

It looks to me that there is nothing wrong with your conversion and burning method but your problem is compatibility between your DVD player and your media.
See if you can try a couple of discs on a few friends DVD players. If any of them play it fine chances are that I am right.
