I have been following LeeBear's guide for DiVX (AVI) to SVCD...
I have completed splitting the movie & separating the audio in Virtual Dub.
I have completed DVD2SVCD and all instructions included with the exception, my original framesize was 512x272...LeeBear's tip to edit the Avisynth Script File with Addborders(0,60,0,60) did not work...got an error saying Not Compatible...tried again saying no edit...everything seemed to have worked fine...DVD2SVCD says SVCD Creation Finished!
When I add the mpg file into VCDEasy...two problems occur
#1 The approximate CD size when file is added says 804mb...when change cd still is added it says 805mb...The movie is only 56min but is this file too large?
#2 Under Chapters...
Sequence 001 is my .mpg movie...
The Type: MPEG2
The Duration: 0:02:25.178 (no where near the 56min movie)...what could I have done wrong?
Any advise out there?

1) That sounds about right to me. The size depends on your bitrate. A typical SVCD is going to be between 45 and 55 mins on 1 80 min cd, which holds ~800MB's without overburning.
2) Are you sure that the 2 min item is your movie mpg and not another track, such as your change cd item, for example? By default, VCDeasy will just show the first track, you have to switch to the appropriate one. -
#1 what do i do to shorten the mb used so that it will fit on a cd...is there a way to prevent that from happening in the future?
#2 yes...to be sure i reloaded just the movie only...and it still says the same duration...could something have been wrong in the encoding?...
the movie plays fine from beginning to end in media player...
do you have any suggestions? -
To make the file size smaller without re-encoding it, you could chop some of the movie off (ie credits, or anything)....or if u have to re-encode it then go into settings and lower the video's bitrate (this will also lower the quality, so u have to make a choice, better quality=biggerfilesize)
...lowering the audio bitrate will save some space too. -
what program will enable me to "chop off the credits" in the current mpg format?

For those readers who incur the same problems...here is how I was able to get past them.....
Problem #1 File size 805mb
The fix: I made the .bin & .cue file anyway
I used Nero 5.5 and followed this guide:
http://www.vcdhelp.com/nerobin.htm ...the cd burned & plays fine on my Apex AD1100W (old 512) player
Problem #2 Duration in VCDEasy is only 2min..25sec
I re-encoded using DVD2SVCD...this time the Duration in VCDEasy said the correct amount (56 min).
Hope this helps
