  1. I have had audio sync issues with Virtualdub for some time (though vdub is a great app); problem has been down to well documented audio & video card clock sync differences.

VirtualVCR (http://www.digtv.ws), however, solved my problem using it's 'AV Sync' tab (in settings). This dynamically adjusts the audio sampling to keep audio & video in sync. Just checking the tick box 'Resample Audio Dynamically' fixed it for me

    Thanks to the VirtualVCR team!

    Other Notes:
Vdub's correction did not work, nor did Andreas Dittrich's audio fix for vdub (see http://www-user.rhrk.uni-kl.de/~dittrich/sync/). I also tried the Via chipset PCI latency patch from George Breese http://www.georgebreese.com/net/software/ (and patched the 4in1 drivers to the latest version), but that made no difference
    Thanks

  2. I've been pimping virtualvcr for a while now. I agree. It has worked great on my W2K box...

VirtualVCR is one of my fav's.
    I don't think it perfect.
I think the Audio(for some reason)
    is slightly degraded, and sometimes
VV fails to close packets properly.
That said, its been my most reliable proggy once I learned and
    adhered to its quirks.
