Been playing with MainConcept 1.3 encoder for a short while, looking for an alternative to TMPGEnc, that leaves a little to be desired speedwise. However, I've found no way to create an XVCD mpeg - The encoder is stubborn like hell - If you select VCD template, or even standard MPEG1 and then mux as VCD, it refuses to let me alter bitrates, audio frequencies, use VBR - none of all the cool tricks TMPGEnc lets me pull off. It even seems to have some strange ideas of its own regarding max/avg allowed bitrates, no matter what template I choose?!? I've tried to edit the .mef files, mostly stumbling the dark, to no avail. Anyone who's managed to persuade MC to create XVCD mpegs??
