I need to capture a bunch of DVCPRO tapes (ABOUT 50-100)
What is the cheapest VCR that will play them back?
Firewire output is not essential
( have access to a Canopus ACDV 100)
I know that some of the DVCAM vcrs will do it.
I JUST NEED THE CHEAPEST VCR!
Thanks

About $4,000 from Panasonic. Not aware of any consumer level machines that will play the DVCpro size "M" and size "L" cassettes. As far as I know, they do not use the size "S" cassettes for "pro" use. If you are talking DVCpro50, then it will be more money. Best bet would be to rent a machine, and get one with a firewire interface to make it easier to transfer your stuff. Just use a search engine and search for DVCpro, many rental places should pop up.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
