  1. Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone else had seen this and if they had a solution.

I recently installed the XviD codec based on the newest code base (version 0.9) and now alot of my older XviD movies get alot of green, blocky video corruption during playback, no matter what player I use. But I also recently created an OGM file using the new XviD codec and it plays back fine. So it seems to me that the new code base has some issues with older XviD files. However, I have installed some other stuff recently and this may not be the case, it just seems most likely.

Please, if anybody else has seen this, LET ME KNOW. I am going to unistall the XviD codec and install an older version (if I can find it, if anyone knows where to find an old copy of the XviD codec, also let me know, this would be very helpful)

    Thnks guys,

    Prospero

  2. I was able to find a solution to this, but it caused another problem. Here is the solution:

Use the Nimo codec pack, v5 build 8
    Select Xvid while installing
type on the command prompt (Start - Run):

    regsvr32 /u ffdshow.ax

Green clouds and X-files alike movies are gone
    NS

But now one of my XviD Ogg Media movies has no picture when playing, the sound works fine and all other movies work fine, but this movie, which did play fine, will not display.

    Any ideas?

  3. Okay, I figured that out too. All I needed to do was reinstall the latest versions of VobSub and ffdshow, especailly ffdshow. somehow it's configuration had gotten screwed up and installing the latest alpha (ver 20030103) made everything kosher again.

oh well, I hope this info helps someone else
