I can't use TMPGEnc because the following error message comes up when I click 'Start' :
"Illegal Floating Decimal Point Calculation Order"
Software: TMPGEnc 12i
Plug-In : QTReader.vfp
Template: VCD (PAL) because I live in the UK. Um, PAL is UK, right?
What other program can covert AVI to VCD? Thanx!

I get the same error converting .MOV files, and alot of smaller movies, such as TV shows. On the note of converting from .AVI to a VCD valid format, you can try XingMPEG Encoder if you don't like Tmpeg. Sorry I couldn't have been more help.

Couple of problems:
* Couldn't find a trial version from http://www.xingtech.com/mp3/encoder/, so I downloaded it from the http://www.pcworld.com site.
* It was installed, but all I see on the Start Menu, is XingMPEG Player. Nothing about an encoder. What happened, did it install a codec / plug-in? If how, what program shall I use? Cheers!
