  1. ok i will explain the best way i can

so i dl a 96 minute 717mb divx movie and am trying to convert to SVCD and am using this guide http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencsvcd.htm

but when i get to Step 4 - Bitrate setting

it is all messed up this is what it shows

as you can see it shows my 96 minute movie as a 284 minute movie for some odd reason instead of 96 minutes and final encoding to be 5.6 GB wich is should be 96 min and about 1.6GB at i have never had this problem before can anyone shed some light on this for me?

  2. This is probrably because the audio has variable bitrate which TMPGEnc cannot handle, you need to save the audio as an uncompressed wav file.

    See this guide

  3. ok i tried that and made a 5minute sample im gonna burn the SVCD and try on dvd player real fast

but i have a question i only encoded 5:44 so far and its a 114mb file so at that rate my 96 minute 717mb movie is gonna end up as like a 2GB file so im i gonna have to split it into 3 parts?

i thought a 96 min divx should be able to be converted to fit on 2 80 min 700mb cd-r discs

using that guide you posted the link for me is there a way to lower the video to say 2150 or would that quality be crappy?

  4. Use a bitrate calculator to see what bitrate you can use to get your length of movie on 2 discs. There are bitrate calcs in the tools section. 2000kbps will give good quality, providing the source is good of course.

  5. Thanx man i did a 5 minute sample with 2520 or whatever and itlooked great but like i said the sizewas gonna be to big to fit on 2 cd so i changed the video to 2150 and did a 6 minute sample burned with nero and couldnt tell the differance between the 2150 and the 2520 or whatver and with the 2150 it looks like it will easily fit on 2 800mb cd-r discs so thanx man i will convert while i sleep tonight and will play it all tomorrow and let you know how it turned out

    Thanx,
