  1. Well I have come to the end of my rope. I have Windows XP and have NeroVision 1.0.4.2.B. I wanted to use the Nerovision to burn my DVD after I have done all the editing in Adobe 6.0 which I really like. The Nerovision product works GREAT to create the SVCD but as soon as I request it to create a DVD and start adding the AVI that I created the program dies.

I have contacted tech support about it but have not heard back from them. I downloaded ULEAD moviefactory but tried tried burning a 8GB file and that product blew up on me also.

I really don't want to spend the 145 dollars to upgrade my Adobe to 6.5 just to get the DVDit software.

Does anyone know what is causing this problem?? I am very upset that I paid the $50.00 to buy the encoder and the nero software!!

    Does anyone like nerovision

    Hi zenith,

I am running XP Pro and I loaded Nero Burning Rom and Nero Vision Express from the CD that came with my Pioneer DVR-105. Ithen bought the MPEG2 plug in from Nero and burned my first DVD only to find NO AUDIO!!!

I read on this forum about the IFOEdit workaround so I did that and had audio only to then discover it would not play in my set top DVD player!!!!

I read on this forum about burning to hard disk, editing with IFOEdit for fixing audio, and then burning to DVD using Nero BR and UDF 1.02 setting.
What a cumbersome and frustrating process.

Nero Vision Express version 1.04.2b (latest) did not work at all for me. The video came out wavy and distorted. Nero VE 1.04.1 worked better (no more wavy) but still produced excessively pixelated video.

I have tried everything including re-formatting my hard drive and doing a whole new fresh XP Pro install. I do not thin Nero VE works well for DVD burning. The .avi file from capture looks great. If I could burn a DVD to look exactly like the .avi capture file I would be happy.

  3. I have NERO vision express and it works fine when trying to burn a comleted project. Maybe your program crashes from trying to burn an 8GB file when a DVD only holds 4.7GB?

  4. Hi Duc851, I know how you feel, I am going to keep trying with DVD moviefactory to see how that is going. I think that a 8gb file was more then it's limit for that program. I did find out that DVD2SVCD seems to help burn the AVI into MPEG-2 format.

all I wanted was a software package that worked. Just on package that would let me capture my DV movies and make them into a DVD but now I am $400.00 into the project not including the camera! This is totally nutts

  5. hi kitzj0, the file is 8gb on my hard drive so when it converts and compress it is on 32 mins long so it takes about 6oomeg on the DVD itself. Are you using WIN XP?

  6. Hi Zenith

I have Windows XP. So you have a 8GB file (I am assuming it is an .avi file) and you are trying to burn this to DVD for playing on a set top DVD player. The .avi made in premiere needs to be converted to mpeg-2 format before it can be burned to DVD with Nero Vision express. You need to encode the .avi first. The nero will encode the .avi to mpeg-1 to be played as a vcd, but the .avi needs to be converted to mpeg-2 in order to be DVD comatible and you need to purchase the mpeg-2 converter for Nero Express. I took a project I was working with in Pinnacle Studio 8, then rendered it to my hard drive in mpeg-2 format ( instead of burning the dvd). This converts it into the format needed for burning in Nero vision express. Also, the nero vision express cannot burn to a dvd disk if the file is in iso format which limits it to 2GB or something, needs to be UDF. I haven't figured out how to do this when I wanted to back up some RAW .avi captured from Digital Camcorder which was bigger than 2 GB to DVD -RW.

It does get quite expensive when you have to purchase so many programs to get the job done.
