I have been working with my new DVD burner for two days now and am hitting a snag. I have a few HQ Divx files that I am trying to get out to DVD but, they will not burn right in any program.
Here is the situation, I have the AVI (without sound) and an AC3 which is timed correctly - I pulled the WAV out in VDub and used BESWEET to convery to AC3. TPMPG (???) will not allow me to use the AC3 audio when encoding the video. So what format does the audio have to be in. Or is there a better way to encode the AVI and the AC3 into one file. Just looking for opinions on how to complete this task. I have been trying to use Ulead DVD Workshop or whatever but it will not take the AVI with the AC3. It will however take an AVI with MP3 - but only some of those clips will play on my DVD player and there are sync issues, which I could fix. The thing is that I want maximum compatability, and I doubt that the MP3 solution will give it to me. I have also considered just going to WAV and sacrificing some video quality - but that is my last option.

Use TMPG and create the mpeg video stream. Ulead DVDWS 1.3 supports AC3 audio and allows you to import streams I'm told.
