    Hello.....
I'm trying to encode an avi file to SVCD using TMPG Enc'. Problem is I can't get the audio/video sync right.
The source is OK when played on WMP.
I tried checking for errors in V Dub and then extracting to a WAV file and importing from that but still It's out of sync'.
The source is 23 fps and I am using NTSC film (as I always have). The only other issue that may be a factor (but I doubt it cos' I've done this succesfully before) is I converted the XviD to DivX using 4CC changer, this works every time for me and enables me to handle these files on my computer fine.
Hope that's enough info', I've done a search but could'nt find any clear solution.
    Thx for reading....

  2. I dunno if it will work for u, but it sure worked for me. When encoding tick "no frame rate conversion" and de-multiplex ur audio from ur video before u encode

using WMP to check sound syncing does not work due to it compensating for badframes etc. It will nearly always play a movie in sync that after encoding goes out of sync. After stripping out wave load it back into your avi in virtualdub and check the syncing there before sending to TMPGenc. If it's out of sync constantly throughout whole movie go to audio - interleaving and put in an audio skew correction. If it goes out of sync after a particular point in the movie then you have badframes and need to refer to King Johns guide:

It is out of sync' from the start and as I've checked for bad frames already I'll have a go at the VDub export/Import thing.

Thx guys, I'll post back later.
