Cant open Smart Ripper

I'm on my pioneer run to rip a DVD to SVCD. I read the DVD to VCD guide and downloaded Smartripper. The problem is I cant open the file. Everytime I try, the windows error message comes out. Anyone know why and how to fix this problem? I'm using Windows XP Pro with SP1 installed.

Try DVD Decrypter,Smartripper has not been updated in a long time and may not,I said may not,run under XP.

what error???some files locked?
use powerdvd or another player and play the movie for a minute.
smartripper does work under winxp.

For some reason I got it running, but I find the DVD-Decrypter works better. With Smart Ripper, it works 2 out of 6 tries. Otherwise it hangs or take a really long time to read the files.
