I've tried a number of times to create an XVCD using the standard template in TMPGEnc. Ulead Movie Factory burns the CD Ok but when I view the disc on my DVD player (Toshiba SD-2200), all I see is a lot of colored lines and blocks on my screen. What am I doing wrong? From what I've read elsewhere on this web site, the SD-2200 is capable of reading XVCD discs.

You didn't say what you were burning them onto....CDR...CDRW....??

Most revieiws say yours will play CDRW but not many brands of CDR.

I am using CDRW media. I understand some CDR media can be used but I haven't tried any yet. I hate to waste a whole CDR when I'm only burning a five minute file. Still in the experimental phase here so to speak. I'm very new at this. Just got the PVR-250 at Christmas time. I read somewhere on this forum that there's a bug in TMPGEnc re creating XVCD compliant files. Could that be what I've encountered?

In the news section it says that a new version of tmpg came out that is supposed to fix some kind of xvcd bug. I haven't encountered any problems with my older version, but you might want to try it. The new version is 2.510
