  1. i have downloaded a divx film and am trying to ecode it with tmpgenc. The video will open but not the audio. when i try and play the film with windvd4 or a divx player i get a perfect picture but no sound. however when i play it through video-lan i get both sound and picture. Can someone please tell me how to load the audio so that i can copy it to a vcd ? thanks in advance

Maybe your movie have AC3 sound, check first if your movie have it with Virtual Dub.
Open up your movie with Virtual Dub and choose File<File information and look in audio compression if it says unknown tags

Do the same with the first test file, if it has no audio then you need AC3

use vcdgear to decompress the audio, this will make a file sometimes twice the size of your original file, then just do your thing as you always did but use the big file with the decompress sound
