  6. Try demultiplexing your audio.

This should be an AC3 type audio. You can use one of the freeware AC3 decoders to convert it to PCM WAV (e.g., AC3Dec). You can download this from doom9's site: http://www.doom9.net

On DVD ac3 is coded in 48khz. Converting for (S)VCD? Make sure you downsample to 44.1Khz. You can extract and downsample using DVD2AVI.

DVD2AVI will also do a ac3 -> dolby surround audio mix. I don't know the order DVD2AVI handles things. Preferrably this should be:
    1. surround mix in 48khz
    2. downsample from 48 to 44.1khz

Can anybody confirm this is the order DVD2AVI will do this?

If not, I am looking for a separate tool to convert 48kHZ.wav to 44.1Khz.wav.

    Anyone know?

    Thanks,

Yes, Dvd2Avi will mix and downsample. It will also normalize. Takes around an hour for the whole process on a 90 minute movie.

  9. The problem with that is that the audio and video are encoded in a divx file and i can't seem to split them, converting the ac3 to wav wouldn't be hard but i need something to split the audio form the video with

  10. I think i have had the same problem before, and I got an advice from someone to use GraphEdit, and that helped me. The program is kinda hard to understand I think, but I managed to rip the ac3 from an avi and save it as a wav, and it worked for me, you can try that prog..
