I'm curious about what the easiest way (well, simplist) would be to rip a dvd to vcd, but with the audio being 48k. Reason for those curious is that this allows you to force the result to be reburned on dvdr without having to do the re-encoding that is talked about from 44.1->48
Directions in dvd2svcd (the program) would be prefered, but if it meens changing to something else, well, thats quite alright for this project.

If you want a lower resolution similar to VCD with 48k audio I suggest MPEG2 DVD half D1 resolution 352x480. With 48 khz audio this resolution video is accepted by most all DVD authoring programs so you don't have to force video programs to burn the low res MPEG1 VCD.
