I am having the same problem!

I record in mpeg-1, and everything is completely in sync.

I then try to encode it with TMPEG to SVCD format, and the first few minutes are in sync... and after that it slowly moves out of sync.

I too would like to know how to fix this.

You can try reading this http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=100617. It has worked for me in the past.

If VDub gives you that message about VBR when you load your AVI, it may not work properly when you scan for bad frames. The VDUB MP3 method suggested in King John's Guide to Bad Frames V2 really fixed the problem for me.

    Hope it helps you too.

I've got a similar strange sync prob:the original avi is OK, the generated DVD mpeg (from tmpgenc) is OK.When converted to DVD (by ULEAD MF) out of sync (at the end about 2 seconds over 85 min.).Made a DVD with MYDVD: DVD is OK, but can't be burned (I think,. because MyDVD doesn't compress audio).
The mpeg file is slightly below 4096 MBytes.
    Any ideas about that.
I'm now trying to de- and remultiplex.Maybe it helps.

    More findings:
After demux, I couldn't remux the files with tmpgenc because of an error (after 75%).I used ifoedit, and it produced the correct VIDEO_TS.Playing them worked fine (sync). Then I made an image, mounted with Daemon:result works fine.Right now I'M burning this with Nero.Let's see what happens.

  11. I have a complete out-of-sync movie that I have tried everything to fix. I used dvd2avi and then TMPGEnc. my main attempt to fix this was to use Goldwave, but it seems to not do anything. I am totaly clueless. I have been tinkering with VCD's for over a year, and have never had an outta sync problem befor.

I had this problem if I encoded the MPEG2 with TMPGenc 2.59, but never with 2.58. I'm now using 2.510 and all is ok again. I really do not like 2.59, so go for 2.58 or 2.510.

To Dragonsf: I had the same as you but with DVD Workshop i.e. MPEG2 fine, once put through DVD Workshop sync probs toward end.

I also found WinXP SP1 totally cockedup DVD Workshop, so went back to non-SP1 and did not let winupdate run on auto like. i.e. I have no SP1 Hot fix crap installed and all is fine now.

I can't say if this will fix all/or any, but it did for me.
