  1. i recently brought a ton of dvd movies from my trip to hong kong, china. about $1 US dollar each, talk about good deals. but wouldnt play when i tried on my computer and dvd playa (my old dvd playa wasnt on the hackable list). are they regional locked or is something else wrong. what do i need to do to unlock them? any advise or help is much appreciated. thanks in advance.

    Yea dude, you messed up! You bought a Region which does not play on your DVD player. You need a different player. If you want to sell them, email me. I might be interested.

  3. Most DVD players will have a region error message on the screen. There are region hacks for most DVD software programs here somewhere. If, however, the dVDs you bought were bootlegs, most of them aren't region encoded anyway. You say that you have a DVDROM on your puter, can you get a directory list? Can you get anything out of them at all? Perhaps, you can rip the vobs and watch them

  4. thanks for the replies first of all. i used dvd genie and now powerdvd plays them w/o any probs. also went out and brought the apex 1500 since it was cheap and reads everything. not bad, $89 for cheap dvd playa and $150 for 150 movies, i must say it was worth it.
