  1. im trying to extract a wav file from an AVI file in tmpgenc. at some point in the middle of the processing, it stops and displays an error: error in audio compression.

    how can i solve this problem? are there any other programs that could extract wav from an AVI? or is it possible to fix the AVI so i can extract the wav file successfully in tmpgenc? pls advise. thanks!

    Try using Gold Wave (see Tools section). Just load the AVI, and save it as a wave file.

    when i try to open it using Goldwave, the program hangs. pls advise.

    Looks like you may have to scan your video for bad frames. Try King John's guide. Click here.
