I prepared the movies (Palp Fiction and the Siege) according to Doom9’s “ dvd-9 to dvd-5 full copy….” Ripping the subs with Subrip v1.14 all settings according to the guide.
After authoring the DVD with DVDmaestro while playing the movie, at the beginning the SUBs are perfectly sync ,but, after some time the sync is lost ( the SUBs are late ) .
Toward the end of the movie it become really bed.
Tx for the help
Miki

I have the same problem I just started playing around with subtitles and same thing is happening..towards the end there is a big delay on the subtitle....can anybody tell me if there is anything that we need to do before importing it to maestro
thanks -
Another "me too" here. I've been having a heck of a time getting subtitles to stay sync'd towards the end of the movie.
Any hints? Tips? -
I don't know how to insert a url link properly. This topic has been discussed here before. If you can't go the link, then search this forum for the words "maestro" and "pulldown". Hope this helps.

p.s. still waiting for help -
same bad luck here with 2 james Bond Movies and both PAL. Eventhough it is PAL I tried the pulldown and had not more luck, it is still completly out of synch after chapter 11 on both titles. Tried during a week to get it right, finally I gave up and used DVDxCOPY to backup them (cause my originals are in bad shape) and now I have perfect backup of them.
I allready have made about 30 to 40 DVDs and the James Bond titles are the only one I had trouble with.[-Neoh*-]|[-Cheers-] -
Great news if you're in the "re-encode to 1 disc" sort of person.
There is a new app that you might have heard of
http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=139234
called Dvd2One. It transcodes the movie instead of re-encoding. Sure, you lose some quality over the original, but you lose quality with re-encoding anyway.
My point is, subtitles work 100% sync'd !!!! I had been racking my brain for days, looking for anything else to tweak because I could NOT get Seven Samurai subtitles to stay in sync. With this app, it transcoded the 7gb of ISO files (3 hour movie) in 30 mins and the subtitles are in sync.
Finally, I get my life back.Give it a try.

If you're using subrip, have you tried using the time correction option?
In the box that opens up after you've loaded your ifo file where you save your subs, you can go to corrections, then time correction (or just click on the clock icon). Then under time stretch/speed adjust, you can shorten the duration of your subtitles. Just put a check next to 'minus' and type in the number of seconds that it's lagging in the third number box.
I had the exact same problem...my subtitles were synced at the beginning, but lagged 6-7 seconds at the end. This fixed everything right up for me. Hope that helps.
