  1. Hi -

I currently have an MPEG-2 video w/ AC3 audio (encoded via BeSweet).
I have authored a DVD using the Ulead DVD Workshop trial that plays fine in WinDVD but has a weird problem on my DV333 - the audio plays for about 1/2 a second, and then cuts out with a harsh buzz sound.

The video was encoded in TMPGenc, VBR 9000kbit/s max. The audio is AC3 224kbit/s, 48kHz. A final program stream was muxed via TMPGenc.

Could the problem be an issue with the muxing of the video/audio, or a bitrate problem (I realize that 9224kbit/s could perhaps be rather high)? Or perhaps w/ the authoring? Or perhaps I'm just dumb, which is typically the case.

    Thanks

  2. Update:

I have been trying several different things (thank God for RW capability), and so far I have yet to make something perfect...

I redid the audio to mp2 via tooLame (384kbit/s) and the audio/video now play. However, the 1st play video I am using doesn't show properly - it looks as though there is an interlace-related problem, but it does not show up in WinDVD or Workshop, and I have reencoded it several times to make sure I am using the proper settings. Given that both the 1st play video and the main video were done in the same way (TMPGenc video encoded, tooLame audio encoded, TMPGenc muxed), I am slightly confused about this particular occurance.

Incidently, both video files produce proper playback when I author via IfoEdit.

I am skeptical about this being a bitrate issue at this point, as the video in both clips are set to 9000kbit/s and the mp2 audio is set to 384kbit/s.

I am assuming that my AC3 streams are fine because they play in Workshop and WinDVD, though I have not played the streams independently of the videos.

Does any know what the possible explanations could be for proper playback on a PC and improper playback on a standalone DVD player?

    Thanks

  3. Nevermind I am stupid.

It would appear that Premiere has a habit of flipping my field order...

Furthermore, I discovered somewhere in the how-to guides that others have had issue with BeSweet AC3 and certain DVD players (Pioneer models included).

So, in conclusion, I am retarded.

    Thanks
