Is there any reason to take a Mpeg1 file and convert it to mpeg2 before burning it to a dvd?? Just wondering if it would help on size or for compatibility issues. I am currently using Sonic My Dvd for authoring and want to make sure i get a dvd that will play in my standalone. It is a toshiba 2700u. From everything i have read it will play dvd+r in it. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Just got my dvd writer tonight (Sony dru500a) and am very eager to start making some dvds to play in my player. Just as a side note i tried to play a dvd+rw in my player and it was unable to. I would like to get some suggestions before burning to a permanent format.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
