  1. Hello,

I can rip the extra material (trailers, alt. endings, etc.) and turn them into mpgs, but what can I do with them? I've been creatng VCD's from the the DVD movies and am fairly happy with the results, but want to be able to watch the etxras too. Is there a way to write ALL the extra material (several indepndent mpgs) to a single VCD and be able to view 'em? How?

Would I need to join all the mpgs together somehow and burn the single mpg to a VCD? If so, what utility would merge the mpgs?

As you guessed, I am a newbie... Thanks for your advice!

You don't need to merge them, you just burn them as separate tracks. However you are burning your single mpg...just repeat the process with these. For example, if you use Nero, then just keep dragging and dropping mpgs into the selection screen until you've used up the disk's capacity. They will each be burnt as separate tracks and you can switch between them using the next and previous keys on your remote.

If you would like more interactivity than you can take the menu's off of the DVD and recreate them on your (S)VCD but this does get fairly complicated. Check out my guide if you are feeling ambitious.

  3. Thanks for the information Adam. I appreciate it and will check out your guide, too. One last question: Do you know if there's a guide for DVDx somewhere other than the "pay one" (membership required) that's available at the DVDx home? I'm new to this and have no clue what most of the settings do, although things have been running smoothly, other than the occasional sound pops that others are complaining about.

Sorry I don't know of one. There is a guide to DVDx on this site in the dvdrip section but it doesn't really explain what all the options are.
