hey guys,
im trying to cap the cleanest possible picture from local channels.
what different settings could i use in vdub to give me the best picture?
i make my caps in svcd w/ CCE (for vid) and TooLAME (for audio).. since this is 480x480.. would i be better off capturing in 480x480 or capturing 720x480 and then resizing?
i have my satellite receiver connected to my ATI 8500 all in wonder 128mb card via svideo and composite/rca (for audio).. even w/ that, i don't think im getting as good of a picture as i could be getting.
Any1 have any advice, tips, etc i could try out?
Thanks
jerets

You won't get any quality gain by capturing the horizontal lines at 720 then resizing it back to 480 since most (if not all) tv / capture card always capture these lines at a very high resolution and (by hardware) resize it to your desired resolution.
I suggest you use HuffYUV @ 480 x 480 for SVCD.
