  1. Hello, I am relatively new to this whole, creating of VCD/SVCD/X(S)VCD. I have read several forums on the subject(s). I have also visited the TMPGEnc website. it seems clear that the majority of users on this forum and others use TMPGEnc. It is not the best, it is not the worst. it is however, free and constantly updated. over the past several days of reading this forum I have noticed that largely everyone has questions about the proper settings to use for the different formats...what setting this? or what bitrate that?, what filter to use etc.
I find it very interesting that this site actively promotes/suggests use of TMPGEnc, but has no complete "guide" on the program itself. There are guides for pretty much everything else on the site, why not a guide for the actual programs used to encode (since this seems to be one of the biggest topics on the forum)? I for one would love to know all the little tabs, options, filters etc. that the program uses, explained in thourough detail, like a "book". I'm sure people would come to the website in masses just to read up on what each little item in TMPGEnc does!. I'll bet dollars to donuts a lot of questions would be answered and create a lot more masterful VCD creators if there were such a guide/book (since the TMPGEnc website offers no help at all). We would all benefit from these type of guides/books. I hope the moderators of this forum can take heed and pass this info on to whomever creates the guides...this type of guide is relevant, necessary and purposeful to all who come here...make it so.

I'm not sure I'd call it 100% complete thou. I think want you want is a guide with comparisons between all the different settings for quaility and encode time as well.
