had some time on my hands today so decided to fix sound sync probs in vcds made ages ago (no longer have source files). But have ended up with mpegs that I can't burn with Nero. Here's the stages:

    1) Copied dat from vcd
    2) Extracted mpeg with vcdgear
    3) Demultiplexed to mpv and mp2 files with TMPG
    4) Opened mp2 with goldwave and deleted 750ms to get right syncing
    5) Saved this as wave file
    6) Converted wave back to mp2 with TMPG using ES audio only
    7) Remultiplexed the 2 files

After multiplexing get an error message in TMPG saying something like 2453 packets underflow, mpeg may not play correctly.

However the new mpeg plays fine with wmp (and is synced correctly)
BUT when I try to burn it with Nero it states it is not vcd compliant and will convert it first (annoying but OK.....). Hit next and Nero crashes and switches off.

Have read in another post that if I try to run the resultant mpeg through TMPG mpeg tools (merge and cut) and resave it then this will sort prob......... but Nero still crashes...........

Final Result = synced mpeg stuck on my pc, me less hair
    Grateful for any suggestions

No, just MPEG -1 system (automatic).I'll try the MPEG -1 Video CD. Never thought of the different templates for multiplexing.......
