I have a Pioneer A04 writer and I am finding that I create a DVD using the writer and although it plays in a DVD player the writer that created it will not read it, so I then cannot make a further backup using that disk.
I have tried upgrading firmware, I am now on latest version 1.40.
Can anyone help - the disks I am using are purple bulkpaq Gen 3
Thanks

When you say cannot read it, is this windows in general or just certain programs.

It may be worthwhile to remove the DVD writer in Windows device manager. Turn the computer off and back on again. Let Windows detect and reinstall it. I've gone as far as removing the IDE device from device manager and let Windows reinstall it too. No harm can be done.
