I've copied over 30 DVD's without any problem using the following method
DVD Decryptor->DVD2AVI->TMPGEnc->DVD Maestro
Lately, I received an error in DVD Maestro when I was trying to import the media assets
CANNOT LOCATE A FRAME SYNC WORD AT AN EXPECTED BYTE OFFSET. DATA MIGHT BE CORRUPTED.
Is this a new protection? It happened to two movies: 1) THE OTHERS 2) SHREK
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Sorry, wish I could help, but I also have a question/issue re: Maestro -- maybe someone can kill 2 birds w/1 stone.. please.
My issue: When importing my .m2v file that CCE created, Maestro gives me a "Invalid Frame Rate" error.. ???
Anyone have a fix?? Yes, I have CineMaster 2000 v1.0. I've uninstalled both programs, installed CineMaster first, then Maestro, but no luck (a suggestion that a search yielded..). Anyone??? -
Petco,
I don't have any real advice, but does it happen at the start of the import or in the middle? Can you open the mpg in a PowerDVD or WinDVD, or an editor like Womble or VDub mod? Might give some smarter people more to go on.
jbenj01,
Sounds like your frame rate is not DVD compliant. I'm not sure CCE changes the frame rate so you should check your origional source. VirtualDub can do that well for an avi. I even think the cce .ecl (or whatever its called) file has the rate in it. I think the valid rates are 29.97, 25, and 24.

I've run into several DVDs (Ben Hur is one of them) that have an AC3 Frame error (don't recall it happening on Shrek, but it's a while since I usde it).
I believe that's the error (you don't say whether it's importing video or audio - I've gotten it on audio).
Just go find ac3fix (probably at doom9.org) , run it on the ac3 file (careful to use the option that inserts silence so as not to cause a sync error), then reimport. Works like a champ.
The valid frame rates are - 29.97, and 25 fps. 23.976 (24) is NOT a valid DVD frame rate
A common error is to use force film from DVD2AVI, use CCE to encode it and then try to import it - you need to use "pulldown" first to convert 23.976 to 29.97 by doing a 3:2 pulldown. -
Thanks guys!
I still do not understand when to use 'Force FILM' in DVD2AVI and when not to...? I thought if DVD2AVI yielded results of 95%+ and FILM---> Force FILM s/b activated... (from Doom9)..
Is this NOT correct or is it just a different process when re-encoding with CCE?
Thx.
