    I've been following a tutorial for making VCD's and I've had success but now i'm getting brave and I want to change a few settings such as rate control mode and the settings are greyed out so that I can't change anything. How can I set up TMPGE so that I vary any of the settings.

    In the main TMPGEnc prog (NOT the Wizard)

    Click on 'Load'
    In the 'Folder' Template window (the one that pops up when you hit Load)
    Click on the 'Extra' folder.
    Click on the 'unlock.mcf' file.

    That should do it for you.
