i am trying to capture in virtualdub, and i have followed the guide on this site http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/89899.php . i captured a 1 1/2 video with only 3 frames dropped, and when i go to play back the file it is only half the size it was meant to be (in gb's) and it says file type is unsupported. when i try to open the file in virtualdub it says that the format is unsupported . i have tried various other programs and cannot seem to get the right mix.

virtualvcr - same problem as virtualdub
iuvcr - audio/video sync problems, tried what is said in these forums, but i still get the same problem
avi_io - just crashes at start of record

card - leadtek winfast 2000 xp
drivers - ones from btwincap
compression - tried both huffy and mjpeg
os - windows 2000
cpu - duron 1ghz
mobo - kt133a kt7 limited edition msi
video card - msi geforce 2 mx400 64mb
sound card - soundblaster vibra 128
ram - 512mb
hard drive - 40gb NTSF

can someone please help me be able to capture.

btw virtualdub works for small captures, but doesn't for these large ones.
