  1. hey,
i was wondering why i get these two bars that follow the length of the top and bottom of my capture that cause distortion in the picture.. check it out:

Its not as visable at the bottom (esp in the screenshot) but the top is pretty bad. Its not as noticable on certain color backgrounds as others.. for some reason this one really shows it. is there any way to avoid or fix this?

I cap 720x480 29.97fps w/ Huffy. i drop frames very rarely.. i usually never drop 1 frame through my caps.. but ill drop a few (2-6) sometimes in some of my caps.

    I appreciate any help
    thanks

  2. So, you caped with Huffy, then took the pic. Or caped with Huffy, compressed the vid, then took the pic. Cause the video looks compressed. If the video is compressed in some sort of MPEG format (1, 2, 4 ect..) it hate to say it, but thats the way MPEG deals with sharp edges, you can really see it with low bitrate movies, and even in lower quality JPEGs, the only way to prevent it is to use an extreamly high bitrate like DVDs (9000kbps), or to leave the video uncompressed or some sort of lossless video codec. I know it seems like a drag now, but wait a few years, when a $50 Hard Drive has Terrabytes, and broadband connections are at extreamly high data rates (500mb/s), 1024x768 uncompressed RGB video will be regular internet video.

Anyway, if that pic is from the uncompressed Huffy cap, I don't know how to help you.
