    Looking for demultiplex program that works(Tmpgenc is nogood) I want a .ac3 file and .m2v file from a .vob file.

    TMPGenc is no good is kinda a blanket statement. I use it primarily and it's always worked well for me. What do you find "No Good" about it?

    I mean to say, I cant figure it out. I've tried and tried to use the demultiplex and have not had good explanations on how to do it. I basically want to convert a .vob file to a .m2v file and .ac3 file for use in Rempeg 2 to remake a smaller dvd.

    run dvd2avi on it - set it to demux the AC3 file.

    then load the .dv2 file only in tmpgenc - and re-encode it to a lower
    bit rate.

    reassemble the mpv with the .ac3 in your favorite authoring program.
