  1. I would like to cut the start of a avi, just 1 min so to miss out the copy write intro,
    I thought this would be easy with v dub but I can not work it out, please help

    Your doing something wrong
    Namely forgetting to change the video and audio to direct stream. You have it in full processing mode.

    By the way, when you do chop bits out, use the nearest keyframe (Yellow key) to move forwards or backwards to a keyframe, before you mark the start and end.
