Confused on Menu's

I have two quick question.

1) Is there a tutorial or a way to get the original background pics from the dvd menu's to use on the backup dvd?

2) Is there a free software tool that inserts menu's and chapters or am I going to have to invest in Movie Factory?

I use Maestro for Authoring and menus. I am not aware of any free programs to do this.

There are several ways to get the menus into .JPG or .BMP files that must be 720 x 480 for Maestro. I use STHSVCD or PowerDVD player.

In the TOOLS section of VCDHELP:
VCD,DivX,AVI,MPEG1 Players

You will find STHSVCD
A VCD, MPEG Player. Supports also SVCD, DVD if you have installed a software DVD Player. Freeware.

Here is a quick and easy way to capture a video scene as an image using PowerDVD.
