  1. In an effort to 'chapterise' my movie with little effort I though I would do my vob-mpeg conversions in segments BUT I see that each file has some extra bytes added on ......damn I just had a thought

    I see the last samples I tried
    Original Mpg -> VCD Dat
    My 6 meg samples swelled to 7 megs BUT
    my 14 meg sample only 'grew' by 300kb

    Now I'm not sure if I used the latest Tmpg on all of them with the VCD -nonstandard setting or if I used the older Tmpg and System-VBR.

    Anyway, should I expect much difference between an mpg and the dat it becomes? Will 20 smaller mpgs ( total 700mb ) take up more space as 20 dat files than one 700mb mpg - dat file?

  2. Why not use VCDEASY, it allows you to either manually add chapters or if you use chapterxtractor you can add the capters as per the DVD.

    Just a thought.

  3. I'm lazy and trying to avoid having to learn to use VCDEasy. There are a couple of reasons that I like to do multiple files - audio syncing doesn't seem to be a problem for one. Ive never done a cd sized mpg before so I don't know if that would be as problematic for me as it seems to be for many others.
