First of all are you trying to make a VCD or just make a data cd of a divx file?

Nero does support overburning, but your CDR recorder must also support overburning. Overburning requires both. I assume your trying to burn a DIVX file,so you also need 90 or 99 min CDR's. A 700MB CDR won't burn 714MB.

Wulf109, with luck and the right brand an 80min CDR will likely go to 720mb before giving errors; I've even burned a (retard-encoded but only one available on whole internet) 726mb divx before without too much trouble. Only a 'could not perform endsession' and a locked drive to deal with
Heck, I typically burn all of my CDs to around 712mb as a maximum, or in the case of mp3s & mixed music videos, a target. For one geeky thing it's pretty much exactly 1024x the capacity of the floppies i used to use in my old atari. For another, it's approx 81 mins music equivalent, and so about as large as it's "always" safe to go as there'll still be ~30 seconds of disc capacity left in which to burn some kind of lead-out.
So a 714mb should be quite possible, though anytime you go past 81 minutes you should be more expecting it to fail than succeed; all you can do then is curse your own data greed and try again.
As for the original query; make sure you are using an 80 or greater CDR, to start with. Check your burner supports overburning, it's a rare one that doesnt but they do exist. Doesn't matter how far it may say it goes (you'd be surprised at how many manufacturers only claim compatibility with 63 and 74 minute discs despite the drives going to 90). If all else fails you should be able to dredge a feature list through burner program info windows. (EG Nero - Recorder menu - Choose recorder will give you all the critical details for the CDRW drive you click)
Check through all the options in your program, for example in Nero preferences, you'll have to go into 'expert features', choose to enable overburn and set the maximum to 82 minutes or higher - then remember to press OK not cancel!
Finally, you HAVE TO ensure that the burn mode is SINGLE SESSION and DISC AT ONCE (or Dao/96). Multisessions of any sort, or track-at-once, both of which sadly seem to be the defaults for some backwards programs, WILL NOT WORK. Trust me on that, from own stupid, caught-out-without-pants experience.

Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more! -
Thanks u all....
I using cheap 700mb cds, to burn the avi file as a data file. Looks like im gonna have to go out and buy a larger capacity disc.
Where can i get cheap CDrs that are larger than 700mb.
Thanks in advance
