Hi all,
I have an ATI 8500DV, which I capture stuff from the TV with.
I tried the new version of Virtual Dub, and find the recording is very quick to start with it.... very neat.
How do I get it to tape a .avi move with standard frames per second as the ATI does ? .... Virtural Dub only has a setting for 15 frames per second, which makes all the video kind of choppy almost. I also note that the audio is not as clear as when I record using ATI's software .
any help appreciated.
Mark.

Go to Capture -> Settings, there you can enter your desired frame rate.
For audio, go to Audio -> Compression, select PCM 44,100 16 bit stereo or PCM 48,000 16 bit stereo if you're gonna convert it to DVD -
If you go into the various settings, you can set the audio/framerate to the setting you want. Some trial and error will be involved before you find the 'perfect' setting. Then go into Capture > Preferences and save your settings.
VD_start_pro is a nice program that will let you timer-record using Virtualdub for those times that you are away from the computer.
