  1. I just got my HPDVD200i burner a week ago. I used the DVD+RW disc that came with the drive. I was able to burn using Nero latest version with out a problem. Then after I watched the movie, I went back and erase it and prepare to burn another movie on it. The quick erase operation went fine, but when I try to burn the next movie on it, the drive just keep on spinning as though it hung. My system wasn't hung but red light on my drive was on but Nero % bar wasn't moving. So after waited for 45 mins I decided to shutdown my computer and restart. When it came back I tried to burn again this time Nero gave me a SCSI Target ERROR. I also tried to erased again and got the same message. I then try using RecordMax that came with HP drive and try to put data on it and it came back with "Bad Media error" when reformating. I even tried using DLA to format and it gave "media erroe"

Have anyone experienced this issue ? Kinda suck if the DVD+RW media only can use once ? Can anyone offer any help ? My guess is that nero written something to the disk that the drive firmware cannot understand.

BTW I went and bought 3 other same hP brande DVD+RW media and have able to burn 4-5 times on each using InstandCD+DVD.

  2. If it was write once it would be +R not +RW, the problem is NERO, it was awesome for CD's but it sucks ass with DVD's, i have the DRU500A and have using RecornNow Max to erase and rewrite and haven't had a single problem. Just use that from the start and you'l be fine.
